While in Seattle we spent an afternoon at Greenlake. I had never been there before and I am so annoyed that I never went while I lived there because it is amazing! It is so gorgeous and has an awesome running/walking path around the entire thing. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks, row boats and more. Its great and was the perfect spot for our little family outing.
There is a roped off shallow area for kids to swim and all the kids jumped in as soon as we got there. Gage snorkeled for about 2 hours straight! At one point I had to tell him to take a break because he was freezing and shivering! Haha the water wasn’t all that warm, but when you were in the sun it was really refreshing.
After awhile of hanging out on the shore, we all rented paddle boats and Amy was awesome and got a paddle board! It was her first time and after a few minutes she was able to stand up and basically rocked it. :) She let me try for awhile too. My legs were shaking afterwards (Proof that I haven’t worked them out in about a year…lol)!
Scott and I rented a paddle boat; Mandy, Scott, Macy, Vivi and I spent about an hour paddling around the lake and just relaxing. Paddling is harder than it looks! Next time I think I would rent a row boat and just be able to sit a little more comfortably. But, it was super nice and perfect weather. After awhile Vivi fell asleep in my arms.
If you go to the right spot you can even see the Space Needle from the lake! It was so pretty and we stopped for Mandy to get this picture before heading home.
It was such a fun day and I wish we could have stayed there longer!
